Mr. Pickles is a 8-year-old Cockapoo in Tucson, AZ, who needs $929 for Ultrasound + Consultation.

We got Mr. Pickles as an unintentional Christmas gift from my in-laws in 2015. He has 2 older sisters- Ripley(american pitbull terrier, 10yrs) and Nala(orange tabby, 11yrs)- so while we’re familiar with medical issues, he’s the baby of the family and has never been the star of the show. We got his name from an adult cartoon, in which the namesake is his polar opposite!

Mr. Pickles is basically the pea princess- has his own pillow on the bed next to ours and likes blankets heaped on his dog beds. He loves cuddling on the couch, and he is always grateful for any opportunity to CHASE- whether it be a ball, or the cat. He gets SO excited for company that he has trouble containing himself, nobody can walk into our house without hearing his excited groans and yips.

He has a small blue gator plush that we like to call his baby since he carries it around constantly, and will specifically search for it. He is also the “tidiest” dog I’ve ever had- likes to wipe his feet after he pees and rubs his face off after meals. He doesn’t like wet feet, and will only step partially off the porch when it rains to go potty, balancing with his back feet on the dry cement.

He’s been sick for a good few months now- valley fever causing all sorts of stomach issues, an ruptured anal gland abscess, and is down to 19lbs from his regular 30lbs for the second time this year. With bloodwork, urinalysis, and X-rays done, his vet thinks he has some issues with his liver. The only way to figure out if it’s something treatable or if it’s end stage is via ultrasound diagnostic.

We were referred to VCA Valley Animal Hospital for ultrasound. The consultation and ultrasound will be $929, but I have already maxed out my credit cards getting the prior testing/treatment done- plus extra wet and variations of food to try and entice him to eat more
