We adopted MrBill from a rescue in Illinois on Mother’s Day 8 years ago and he has been a part of our family ever since. When our daughter was younger she loved to ‘race’ him and he would slow down at the end to make sure she beat him every time. He’s such a smart dog and he has been so good from day one. Our middle child has been teaching him Harry Potter spells for tricks. He knows accio and petrificus totalus so far. MrBill is very food motivated and when he comes in from his nightly walks, immediately cleans out the cats dishes whether they are done or not. Then he gets his Kong and brings it out for his nightly peanut butter. He hates to be kenneled. He will stay home for 12 hours at a time with no issues, but if you put him in a kennel, the kennel will be half way across the room and he will have pulled a blanket in and ripped it up while gone.. He likes tennis balls, frisbee, walks and chasing geese. He loves the nylon slingshot ducks you can buy at Target with a passion.. When MrBill was 3 there were some neighbor girls who loved to take him for walks. One day when he was out with my husband he saw those girls and went running to greet them. He was hit by a car and broke his leg. The belief is that this neck issue is an after affect from that car accident. We are told that the surgery will alleviate his pain extend his life expectancy from a couple months to hopefully another 6 years.
