Senior dog discarded and dumped in another town needs medical care

Mufasa arrived in the back of a truck, quiet and worn, after traveling miles from another city. An old soul with a fractured front leg, a missing back one, and an injured ear—he looked around, confused and heartbroken. Half of his body had been shaved, as if someone started to care for him, then gave up halfway through. It was clear he had been discarded when things got too hard.

He’s severely dehydrated, his vision is fading, and even basic things like using the bathroom are a struggle. But through it all, Mufasa carries himself with quiet pride. He sleeps most of the day now, exhausted from everything he’s endured, but when he stands, he lifts his head with strength and dignity. That’s why we’ve named him Mufasa.

Now, he’s safe at ACF Animal Rescue, surrounded by cool air, soft blankets, and kind voices. We’re helping him heal, gently, with compassion. His body is fragile, but his spirit still flickers. And though he doesn’t understand why he was taken from the only life he knew, we’re doing everything we can to show him he’s not alone.

This is Mufasa’s retirement. It may not have started with love, but it can end that way. Please help us give him the comfort, care, and pride he so deeply deserves. After a lifetime of surviving, it’s time for Mufasa to finally rest in peace and dignity.

Update 8/15/25
Mufasa is doing a lot better. He still moves slowly and takes his time moving from place to place, in that stoic proud way of his, but he is comfortable in the A/C and is walking around and gaining strength. He has even made friends with some of the other dogs and he loves human company
