About this campaign

Muffin is a very special rescue kitty I adopted from a shelter to try and help her. I saw her online listing a year ago, watched her get adopted, and then returned some months later. I decided to go meet her in person, and had my eye on her because her coat pattern is very similar to an older cat I lost who had my heart. When I saw her, she was in terrible pain. I knew I couldn’t leave her there.

From the moment I saw Muffin, it was physically obvious to me that something was wrong with her butt. I adopted her and told the shelter she needed medical attention, and went back and forth for a while discussing her condition. X-rays with Emerald City Animal Hospital and FETCH detailed a massive hernia in her rump. It causes Muffin chronic pain, diarrhea, and grooming issues that cause matting.

Muffin is as sweet as pie. She craves affection deeply, is curious in nature, and likes to play when she’s feeling well enough. When she isn’t, she can be a cranky old lady, lashing out if you pet her while she’s in pain. I call it a hernia mood ring because you can tell how she’s feeling by how much the hernia is inflated with fecal matter. My 4 other cats are stressed due to her mood swings.

FETCH quoted me $4,000 to $6,000 for total hernia removal with a 99% guarantee of it not reoccurring. While not life threatening, it’s severely impacting Muffin’s quality of life! And not just hers, but my other cats’ as well. The sooner she can have this removed the better!
