Murphy is a 1-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd/Chihuahua in Seattle, WA, who needs $2,000 for Severe Luxating Patella Surgery.

I never considered myself a "dog person" until Murphy came into our family...now, I don't know how I would ever live without him. Murphy was born on 7-11-22 to my sister's dog, Limerick. Yes, we're an Irish family and so are our doggies, by name at least. He is a mini Aussie Shepard/Chihuahua mix, and this past year he has enriched our little family in big big ways. I am now THAT dog momma!

Murphy was brought into our home to help ease anxiety and depression in my 17yr old son, and also to help enhance the experiences of my special needs nephew whom I care take for and who has regular seizures. He has done all that and then some. He has learned to alert to seizures, has brought me and my son back to nature, and sparked more laughter than I ever thought was in me. He feels like home.

Murphy is small but mighty. He has always been very social, good natured, playful and expressive with his ears and eyebrows. He will sit next to me when I do yoga, he will lick food off of my nephews bib or tug it completely off. He loves looking out the window of home or car. He loves to chase, run, hop in the bathtub or under the covers. He adds so much joy and light to our lives!

Murphy has a level 3 critical luxating patella. He was stepped on by a larger dog and his kneecap slipped out and has never gone back. He stopped walking and won't go outside unless in a wheelchair. He can't walk without his leg collapsing and it is just so sad to witness. He needs surgery ASAP. Dr. Davidoff at Urban Animal is his vet.

I am currently undergoing reconstructive surgery on my mouth and face after an assault. It has been 3 years of medical and dental procedures, leading to a need for government assistance. My beloved fiance passed away September 15th and I have been devastated. Paralyzed.
