About this campaign

A tiny kitten was dropped off at my daughter’s work. She was very weak and frail and has an injured leg - her left front leg is limp and lifeless. My daughter brought her home so she could be as comfortable as possible in her final hours/days . We took her to our vet. Her leg has nerve damage and needs to be amputated as soon as possible.

We named her Murphy. Besides her leg, she is thriving and doing everything a little kitten does. She has quickly become part of our family. She eats like a champ, runs and plays like any 4-legged kitten, and is a very social little girl. She is even learning to navigate stairs - she’s quite a sight :)

Despite her rough start in life, Murphy is thriving. She is a fighter. With loving care, she has become a normal healthy, happy kitten. It’s conical watching her run through the house on three legs. She runs very low to the ground. I assume it’s an adaptive/balance thing. Absolutely adorable to see.

Murphy‘s left front leg is limp. She doesn’t even seem to know it’s there. The vet discovered exposed bone in her paw, so she has been on antibiotics to prevent infection while we wait for her to get bigger and gains weight. Murphy needs her leg amputated. She needs to weigh at least 3lbs before this can be done.

We lost our kitty AJ in July to kidney disease. The expenses to care for him before his passing were steep. We were not ready to care for another pet yet. But Murphy came along and needed us. Her urgent medical needs however have and will be a struggle for us.
