About this campaign
Murphy is a ten-year-old Boston Terrier that I've had since 2012 when he was just a puppy! When they tell you how smart, loving, and energetic Boston Terriers are, they really don't stress the energetic part enough. Murphy has always been bouncing off the walls with curiosity and an overwhelming sense of play. He's been my best friend and emotional support animal over the years.
This is my first dog of my own but our family dog helped raise him. My dads are his grandpa's and he's more than happy to be sent to their house for a weekend of pampering and doting. He's always been a very curious and active boy that used to clock 90 in and out of the rooms of the house and you were never able to catch him! EVER!
Murphy is a total goof and you'd never know by meeting and looking at him that there was anything wrong! I've been fortunate in the past to never have to ask for help but this request isn't for me, it's for my dog who has given me so much and deserves to live out the rest of his life in as much comfort and good health as it's possible for me to give him.
Immune-mediated Thrombocytopenia (ITP) is where platelet autoantibodies are made and attach to the surface of platelets, targeting them for destruction by macrophages. This results in profound thrombocytopenia, with platelet counts commonly below the threshold of 30,000-50,000 platelets/uL that is considered high risk for spontaneous bleeding.
Although ITP is a serious disease that can result in fatal hemorrhage in some cases, the prognosis is generally good, with approximately 75-90% of patients surviving to discharge from the hospital and 63-80% surviving long-term. Murphy's condition has required intensive care
