About this campaign
Mykono came into me and my sons life a little over a year ago. He was a rescue and had a broken leg he was healing from. We nursed him back to health and I’ve been his mommy ever since. He was given to me as an emotional support animal and his company comforts me. He has become my sons best friend.
Mykono greets me and my son when we come home every evening. He automatically rolls over to show us his belly. He is ready for lovings. He loves to hide and jump out at my feet as well as being a part of any activity me and my son are doing. He joins us to build legos, eat dinner, and even watch movies. He loves chasing a laser and playing with his jingle ball.
Mykono will roll back and forth to show us his belly. He will chirp at me when I talk to him. He’s not much of a meower, but every once in a while we will get a meow out of him. He loves to sit on my chest if I’m laying down and will give me kisses when I stick out my lips. He will rub his head against mine to show his affection.
Mykono has had trouble urinating the past couple of days and today he became lethargic. I could tell something serious was wrong. I took him to Guilford College Animal Hospital Emergency Clinic where they discovered he had a blockage that was not allowing him to urinate. She said I caught it early and they believe they will be able to intervene and cure him. He is having to stay overnight.
I’m a single mom who works full time, but with the economy I’m barely able to pay my bills. We love our Mykono and leaving him at the hospital brought me and my son to tears. We cried all the way home, but we know he is in the best care. I can’t wait until he’s home.
