About this campaign
Myla is only three years old, but she has been my constant companion for nearly her entire life. I found her in a Fred Meyer parking lot when she was so small she fit in the palm of my hand. She was alone, far too young, and needed help to survive without her mother. From the very beginning, I promised her I would do everything I could to keep her safe—and she has returned that love tenfold.
Myla has always been the perfect cat to me. Despite her tiny size, she tries to protect me from anything she thinks might be scary. She follows me, watches over me, and shows her love in the quiet, loyal ways only a cat can. Our bond is deep, and she is truly my baby.
Over the past six months, I’ve watched her slowly lose her spark. She began drooling constantly, keeping her tongue out, and eventually stopped eating and grooming herself. I knew something was wrong. I brought her to OHS Community Veterinary Hospital, where they discovered that Myla had two severely infected teeth in the back of her mouth. One of those teeth had already fallen out, causing even more infection and pain.
Myla has now been placed on the emergency dental surgery list. The surgery will remove the remaining infected tooth and address the infection that has been causing her so much suffering. This procedure is necessary for her to heal, eat normally, and live without constant oral pain. She finally has a chance to feel like herself again.
The difficulty is the cost. The required deposit for the surgery is $1,000, with additional expenses afterward. At my young age, this sudden emergency has been overwhelming. I want nothing more than for Myla to thrive, to be pain-free, and to live the long, happy life she deserves—but I am deeply worried about falling into financial trouble while trying to save her.
Myla is being treated at OHS Community Veterinary Hospital, who have been incredibly compassionate and supportive during this process.
I’m asking for help because Myla cannot speak for herself—but she deserves relief, comfort, and a future without pain. Every bit of support helps bring her closer to healing. Thank you for taking the time to read Myla’s story and for helping me keep my promise to the tiny kitten I rescued that day in a parking lot.
