About this campaign

Nahla first came into our lives as a foster. We fostered her for our local animal shelter. She is a special needs cat and was suffering from some skin allergies at the time and she was having a hard time coping with the shelter environment. We fell in love with her and decided to adopt her. She's been with us now for over 4 years now. She is like a child to us, and we love her dearly.

Nahla is "the queen of the castle" in our house. We don't own her, she owns us! Our children are grown and out of the house, so Nahla and her little brother Dexter (hamster) are all we have. They are both very spoiled. Nahla is very lovable, and loves to have her Daddy rub her belly. She is an older cat, but she still has a lot of spunk, and loves to play and run around the house.

Nahla is very special to us. Its been an amazing journey. When we first started fostering her, she was a terrified, underweight cat with a terrible skin rash and open sores all over her body. We watched her slowly come out of her shell as she learned to trust us and open up to us. Today she is loving, confident and trusting, and we wouldn't give her up for anything in the world.

We knew when we adopted Nahla that she was a special needs cat. She has severe allergies which can cause very painful leisons on her body that open up and become infected. We've done a good job keeping them at bay by keeping her on a strict diet. However, sometimes they appear anyway. When this happens, a vet visit is necessary to treat it. We just can't afford it right now and we're heartbroken

Our financial situation is dire at the moment. My husband is permanently disabled and I recently had open heart surgery, to which I'm still recovering from. I also have Lupus, so I cannot work right now. We have such a limited budget right now.
