About this campaign
We adopted Nala from the local shelter when she was 3 months old! We were really wanting to get a puppy to grow up with our new baby boy, so we adopted her 1 month before we had the baby so that she could get comfortable with up prior to having the baby.
She was in foster care for her first 3 months before she came home with us.
She is so sweet and gentle with the baby and with all of us. She follows her Mom, Sunya, everywhere and gets so excited to see her dad and sister when they get home! She is the best dog in the world!
Nala is the sweetest, most loving, playful pup we have ever met! She is so loyal and fun. She would play all day every day if she could! She absolutely loves the snow and chasing sticks! She's a water dog and an adventurer. We love taking her everywhere with us and she loves being close to us all the time!
The vet at Riverwood noticed a very slight limp on her back right leg when we took her in for vaccinations. We watched 5 month old Nala closely and didn't see the limp and she ran and played hard which made us think that she was okay, and financially it would have been hard with the new baby, so we didn't go back. About a month ago now, she began limping badly and now she can't even stand on that leg
Since we had the baby, money has been very tight. Nala was recently bit by a rattlesnake and we borrowed the money to pay for that because her pet insurance pays back 90%. But since the vet noticed the limp prior to us getting pet insurance, they will not cover this.
