Nala is a 8-year-old Beagle mix in Jacksonville, FL, who needs $2,000 for Oncology treatment for better quality of life.

Please allow me to introduce you to our little girl, Nala. She came to us via a local adoption event hosted by PetSmart about 8yrs ago. We already had a white Jack Russell Dobbie (see the pics) that we adopted previously but we needed a dog for our 1st born son who is now 9yrs old. We chose the name based the movie Lion King.

Nala has an amazing life with my family. She bonded INSTANTLY w/Dobbie & both are inseparable. Nala loved to cuddle up with my son in his room at night. We were told at the adoption event "she doesn't bark, we are unsure if she was from an abused home but she is very quiet". Totally NOT the case now. LOL. Nala has no problem barking when we are, in her opinion, taking to long to get her food.

Nala & Dobbie are best friends. Before her sickness, they would run SO HARD and chase each other in the back yard. I am truly lucky to have the attached video to remember those times. I told my wife I needed to send it to the running back coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars as a training video as she could stop on a dime and reverse directions in a blink of an eye! To the displeasure of Dobbie. LOL

A few mths ago Nala started yelping with pain in her lower back near her tail. One vet thought it was constipation but the pain persisted. After MRIs and CT scans Southeast Veterinary Oncology & Internal Medicine diagnosed Nala w/a form of cancer that is affecting her lower spine. Eventually it will be what takes her from her family. She is currently on a mthly shot & chemo drugs.

We just moved into a new house when we received the new of Nala's condition. After over $15k we are strapped. We love seeing her somewhat her old self but finances are dwindling and it is hard to keep up with the medicine cost. :-(
