About this campaign
Nala was given to me by someone who said she couldn't keep her. We accepted her as the heavenly gift she is. Nala kept a tennis ball in her mouth constantly except for eating and drinking, for about 8 years. We have 3 other dogs in the household, and she loves them all and they love her. She has the name "Nala" because she looks like a lion cub.
Nala has a tumor on her liver and needs a liver lobectomy. The prognosis is very good, and it is expected that she will go on with the rest of her life. This tumor has a very low chance of ever re-occurring.
Nala felt abandoned by her previous owner and had severe emotional problems for some time after coming to us. My husband, now deceased, took her into his heart as his own child. The two of them were glued together. When he died, I have tried to be both Mommy and Daddy to her.
When my husband died, we lost his income. I'm working, but this vet expense was not expected or planned for and is much more than expected. This is a very well-respected hospital and surgeon, and it is not expected to re-occur. Her life is very much worth saving.
