Nala is a 7-year-old Toy Poodle in Loveland, CO, who needs $2,000 surgery to repair a torn ligament.

7 years when Nala was just a puppy hers owners at the time were moving and could not keep her, it was then when I adopted her in my family, at that time we had a malti-poo named Prince and chocolate lab named Gunner. She was full of energy and would not stay still, she would wiggle herself out of your arms, a tongue that would not quit and loves meeting new people.

Shortly after adopting her we took Nala in to get spade, sadly during her post op she was placed on the wrong type of heating pads and received deep tissue burns. It took surgery to remove the burned tissue and two months of recovery wearing the cone which she hated the entire time and since then she cant stand collars. Despite the scars she has always been happy and enthusiastic.

I am Navy veteran, I have may share of debt and without financial assistance for surgery Nala will be receiving simple knee brace. She is amazing currently she shows no sign of pain even though she favors the leg by limiting how much weight she puts on it.

Second week of July we noticed Nala favoring her back left leg. At first we treated her for a cracked pad and looked for a sticker between her toes. After a week of tying to find the problem I took Nala to the Vet only to learn that that somehow she had a torn ligament the cranial cruciate ligament and the only recommended treatment is a estimated $3000 surgery.

Nala enjoys meeting meeting people; our granddaughter since birth loves laying on the floor to have Nala just kisses frantically. When Nala wags her nub of a tail her whole body wiggles and happiness can been seen in her eyes. Nala has her own spot on my desk when I work and is always beside me . The only time she speaks out is at dinner time; she also places her bones in my lap to hold.
