Nala is a 1-year-old Pitbull Mix in Mchenry, IL, who needs $2,000 for ACL Surgery.

Nala came into my life Nov. of 2022 via a post on Facebook. She was only 8 months old. The post said that she was being abandoned by her owner and she was about to be killed in a shelter. Initially, I took her in to give her more time and find her a family as I already had an 11-month-old puppy. She instantly clung to me and wouldn't leave my side and I love her and couldn't let her go.

When she arrived it was hard for her to trust the family and my other dog. It took us some private training and lots of love. She loves to play fetch and cuddle with her sister. She will do anything for peanut butter and beg and cry if she needs to take a bath. She is so loving and unconditional that she will stand in front if she feels I'm in danger.

Nala has suffered a lot in the first seven months of her life. Her tail is broken, and she was petrified when she came into my life. She gets so scared that she freezes and pees. I want her suffering to stop because it has already been too much pain. She has suffered more than she ever needed to.

We went to get X-rays done because she was limping. I learned on 10/27/2023 that Nala has a cruciate ligament injury on both back knees. She needs surgery. I have looked around and have found the most affordable option. She has her appointment on Jan 2, 2024; she will have her first app evaluation at UW Veterinary Care with Dr.Peter Muir & Davis Tolon.

Unfortunately, I couldn't afford her insurance because I didn't make enough money. I work a full-time job, and I'm going to college and I have a two 13yr old. Please, my dogs and my daughter give me strength to keep existing in this world. It means everything to me.
