About this campaign

Nala is never more than six feet from her human mom, Cassie T.

"Nala is a rescue that I fell in love with when she was six weeks old," Cassie tells Waggle. "She was neglected by her previous owners, who left her to starve underneath his porch."

For the last 12 years, they've spent nearly every moment together. "I swear Nala understands every word I say to her, and I understand everything that she, "says" to me," Cassie says.

But Cassie is now worried and devastated. Nala was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive blood vessel cancer that usually starts in the spleen.

Nala had an emergency splenectomy, and Cassie got the good news that the cancer likely had not spread.

Now Nala's specialist recommends chemotherapy, but Cassie can't afford it. She's hoping generous pet lovers can help pay it forward and give to help Nala get the treatment she needs.

"The sudden splenectomy took a toll on our financials," Cassie says. "I know the chemo won't cure Nala, but slowing down the cancer and having those few extra months with Nala would mean the world to me."
