About this campaign
We got Nellie from a shelter. They had named her Chanel, and we decided to keep the name but mostly call her Nellie. In all honesty, when I was looking to see what dogs were in the shelters, I chose her based off her picture alone because she looked like a total spaz. I knew she would fit in with my little family! The day we went to meet her I cried immediately. She had found her furever home.
Upon bringing her home everything seemed fine. However, after a couple days I realized she might have kennel cough. So we took her back to the shelter to get evaluated and we were given the unfortunate news that she has Distemper. We started her on antibiotics, and she was on them for a month. She suddenly to a turn for the worse overnight and had to be hospitalized.
Our little Nellie is such a playful girl and really enjoyed giving all the kisses she could. She was finally learning how to play with her sister Kix, and Kix was finally being more accepting of her "little" sister. Nellie was very enthusiastic about getting treats and yummy food. Head and between the shoulder scratches are her favorite!
Unfortunately, our financial situation hadn't yet included an emergency pet fund. She's a very new member of the family and we hadn't yet been able to get her health insurance or start an emergency savings fund for our pets yet.
