About this campaign

Nemo came into my life while working my shift at the veterinary emergency hospital. He was a four-week old baby who was owner surrendered from a backyard breeding situation due to a malformed front leg. I took him home that night as a medical foster due to him needing formula-fed and needing a little extra TLC. I ended up foster failing him as he has become my heart dog.

He loves water. He will run in the bathroom as I get ready every morning and jump in the bathtub for me to turn the water on for him to play in. He has two doggy siblings. His coonhound sister, Joon, took him in as her baby instantly and is protective of him. His German Shorthair Pointer brother, Apollo, is his play buddy. Those two will run around the backyard for hours together.

Being a foster failure, I knew there would be expenses but did not expect his treatment to be years long and need re-peat radiographs as often as he is needing them due to setbacks and road bumps in his recovery. Being on a limited salary I am struggling to afford his care.

Nemo was surrendered due to a malformed leg. After radiographs at the Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital of Wichita with Dr. Smith and Dr. Davis we learned his humerus was broken and his ligaments were tight and holding his leg in a cramped position due to the long neglect of the break as a neonate.

Nemo has been my sidekick from day I brought him home. He loves drive-thrus as he knows he usually gets a pup-cup or snack. He will start hitting the window button on the car door to stick his head out to give his biggest puppy eyes. He is the smartest puppy I have ever met;having learned sit, down and stay before 8 weeks old. He gets the 3 legged zoomies whenever we come home.
