Nessa is a 6-year-old Scottie in Stuart, FL, who needs $2,000 for Surgical Excision and Chemo.

Nessa stormed into our lives when she was just 2 months old. There has not been a single dull moment since. She is full of mischief, humor, quirkiness and most definitely has a major Scottitude. She gives us a run for our money, but is also the sweetest, most loving cuddle bug. She is OBSESSED with tennis balls and the squeakier the better!

At home it is just me and my 17 year old son, together we have two wonderful doggos. Yo-Yo is our 12 year old Schnauzer and Nessa our 6 year old Scottie. My son is on the spectrum and the dogs a valued source of calming when he is anxious. They get him out of the house for walkies , and help him learn responsibility with feedings and care.

Nessa has never met a human she doesn’t love. She loves meeting new people and is very generous with her kisses. If you are a dog, squirrel, lizard, or frog however….. all bets are off. Her puppy trainer nicked named her Scotland Yard because she thinks she’s in charge of all other dogs. Speaking of which, Nessa has A LOT of nicknames. A few are wee beastie, bloody scot, and (most lovingly) Heifer

Nessa went from running, jumping, playing and getting up to no good, to dying in about 10 days. When she first started limping I thought maybe she jumped off the couch and hurt herself. After a few vet and one emergency visit it turned out to be an aggressive mast cell tumor. After the shock wore off I was in a mission to save her. I consulted the oncology department at UF and started treatment.

I am the only income in my house, and though I have a good job, one is rarely fully prepared for these types of things. With all the current treatments I have paid up to this point, her surgery and further treatment are estimated at $6500. I can’t let her go without a fight.
