Newfie is a 1-year-old newfoundland in Columbus, OH, who needs $2,000 for Gastropexy/Neutering.

Newfie came into our family on Christmas Day 2019. He was a surprise gift to our twin daughters. We have always LOVED big dogs and my girls were fascinated with the breed of Newfoundland dogs. So we did lots of research and found a Newfoundland. We pulled off the biggest surprise Christmas morning. The excitement that filled the room that morning was indescribable. The were so happy.

Newfie adds such humor and joy to our lives. He loves and worships his human sisters. He loves to play ball in the house and run from room to room chasing the girls around the house. He sleeps in his human parents room at night in front on a fan, as he gets sweaty at night. He is in a crate (his house) when he is left at home. He gets along and wants to play with all dogs and loves all humans

The vet bills for Newfie totaled over $4500. This was a very unexpected expense as we thought the total surgery and gastropexy would be $800 which we could afford. This has put a financial restrain on our credit card that we would love to be able to pay off soon.

On June 1, 2021, Newfie went in to have Neutering and Gastropexy surgery. He seemed ok the first day however, his scrotum and penial area started swelling greatly to the point that he couldn't walk or sit down. We took him to the OSU ER on a Sunday as we couldn't wait until morning. His Vet is North Kenny Vet and the Vet is Dr. April Bauer. We did see Vets at Ohio State ER as well.

Newfie adds such wonder to our house. He has a canine Great Dane brother who he loves to play with. When Newfie was a puppy my girls taught him to sit and then with a treat in hand they would say "Koala." He would then wrap both paws around their arm like a Koala Bear. He stills does that to this day and it makes us giggle each and every time.
