About this campaign
Nickle’s life started with uncertainty—but you would never know it by looking at him.
This happy, goofy little Boston Terrier arrived at Miami-Dade Animal Services as a stray on January 28, 2026. No one knows exactly what he experienced before he was found, but despite everything, Nickle greets the world with excitement. His tail wiggles nonstop, he loves going on walks, and he’s even learning how to properly walk with a leash and harness.
Now safe with Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee, Nickle is finally getting the second chance he deserves. But this sweet boy is living with constant discomfort. Nickle currently has cherry eye in both eyes, a painful condition where the tear gland becomes prolapsed, causing swelling, irritation, and redness. In Nickle’s case, the condition has progressed enough to cause ulcers and significant inflammation, making his eyes extremely uncomfortable.
Without treatment, the irritation will continue and could lead to more serious complications. Thankfully, surgery can correct the issue and give Nickle the relief he needs. The estimate for his surgery and medical care is approximately $2,000.
While Nickle may have entered the shelter system as a stray with no one to advocate for him, he is no longer alone. The rescue team is committed to giving him the care he needs—but they cannot do it without help.
Your tax-deductible donation will help cover Nickle’s veterinary exam, surgery, and recovery care. If you’re unable to donate, sharing Nickle’s story can help us reach someone who can.
Nickle’s joyful personality shows just how resilient he is. Now we have the chance to give him what every dog deserves—a life without pain and a future full of love. Together, we can help Nickle see the world clearly again.
