About this campaign
We adopted Nika from scraps at the end of September 2023 after we found her roaming around the town we live in looking for her puppy & was later picked up by scraps. Which we were supposed to pick her up a week sooner but our daughter had emergency surgery the same day we were supposed get her.
She has integrated herself into our family as if she's been with us all along & we joke that she is the dog version of our oldest daughter. She is absolutely amazing with both our kids & is a complete cuddle bug that melts into your lap when you pet her head. She also is either insanely calm or does a complete 180 and does zoomies through the house like she's ice skating !
She can sense when my anxiety is starting to increase and when it starts to get really bad she will come up and lay in my lap and if I don't want her to she will sit and bark at me till I let her and will lay there till I start to relax. Which has worked every single time she does it even though we never trained her to do that. She is also the most clumsy dog and major goofball we've ever seen!
Since the day we adopted her she has been sick with something all 5 vets and 2 ER's we've been to have not been able to figure out what's wrong. They thought it was kennel cough but after 4 rounds of antibiotics, different meds, x-rays and more nothing has helped or identified what's wrong so we were referred to to Internal Medicine for a CT Scan & Rhinoscopy to hopefully finally find out & help.
Within the last year our youngest had emergency surgery for a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, our oldest was bit by a dog in the face, and I had severe complications during our C-section after we lost our oldest daughters father in October os 2022 to a fatal car accident.
