Niki came into our lives as a gift by my late Abuelo. She was 3 mon. old when she was brought to us from Tijuana Mex, Niki was our first pet, she's been a part of our lives for the past 9 years. she's been with us though good times and hardships. We currently have 2 other dogs Masapan who is Niki's daughter and Ozie who we found abandoned in the streets and 4 cats that we are currently fostering.

Niki is always somewhere to be found, whether watching my mother cook in the kitchen while she sings and dances or outside watching my sister do her daily work out routines, Niki always makes her rounds making sure we are safe and at the time receiving endless loves and belly rubs. Niki gets along with everyone never has shown an ounce of aggressiveness. She's the heart of this family.

Niki came to us in a very important time in our lives, it was when my mother had left her abusive relationship with my father. Niki helped my siblings and I get through a rough chapter in our life. Niki was our main focus, one of her behaviors that stand out to us the most is whenever myself and my siblings are play fighting Niki comes in and becomes the parent and tells us to stop like a mother.

when we first noticed a mass inside of Niki's lip we thought it was an insect bit but we've currently received the worst biopsy results Niki has been diagnosed with cancer, she has a large, firm, poorly demarcated, infiltrating neoplasm on the right upper lip causing halitosis; Diagnosis:Oral mucosa: Poorly differentiated malignant neoplasm, compatible with amelanotic melanoma. time life is unknown

Due to cost of living increases, school expenses and my work hours have decreased it's impossible to get affordable care. I was told she would need an invasive surgery and maybe the best thing to do for her is to keep her comfortable until her body gives out. I have to try.
