NiKo is a 10-month-old Husky in Hoschton, GA, who needs $1,500 for Cataract Surgery.

NiKo is our only "baby" in the house and is super spoiled. He has my husband and I trained pretty well. My husband is afraid of dogs but when our daughter called and said she was fostering a puppy that had been badly abused and needed to find a home for him asap and asked if we could take him, his heart dropped and we went to see him and instantly fell in love with him and had him ever since.

NiKo loves everyone and everything. He is such a gently baby. You wouldnt expect this behavior from a husky but NiKo is quite calm. He doesn't bark either, not even if someone rings the doorbell, he just sits there and stares unless it's his Sister ( our daughter) then he waits until she gets in the house because he can't see too well, hears her voice and runs up to her.

NiKo is such a joy and so funny. He loves the ice maker. He can be sleeping and if he hears the ice maker he wakes up and wants you to give him ice. We just have to laugh and smile becuase what else can you do. He is also very peculiar. He will only walk on the carpet so we had to put down a bunch of runners for him to walk throughout the house.

We are seeking to have cataract surgery done on both of his eyes by UGA Teaching Hospital. We noticed a cloudy eye a few months ago and got it looked at in which he was diagnosed with mild cataract in the one eye. Since then it has progressively gotten worse and is almost completely blind in one eye and has spread to the other eye.

NiKo is only 10 months old so we did not expect to have to do something like this so early in his life and arent prepared financially for the cost of this surgery. He is just a baby and has not had the chance to enjoy his life as he should.
