Nillabean was one of a litter of 4 left with our neighbors and we took them in because we had 2 nursing mothers whose kittens were the same age. People are always leaving their cats with us when they have to move or simply no longer want them. For this reason, we often have cats more cats than we can afford to take care of, and it’s often hard to get them rehomed.

Nillabean has a room of his own at night, but wanders the house freely during the day. He’s very affectionate and loves to cuddle, often following someone around and rolling at their feet until his demands for petting are met.

He’s such a beautiful, sweet boy and comes from what was surely a unique litter, with 3 out of 4 having an extra toe. I love to watch him make biscuits with his little murder beans when he’s cuddled up on my bed.

He’s had a recurring prolapse since the end of Feb. The first 1 self-corrected within a day, the next 3 required sutures and all recurred within 24 hours of their removal. He’s already lost part of his colon due to this, and needs surgery to keep it inside his body. Unfortunately, we need 5k, first, or we’ll have to put him down because the stitches are getting too expensive to keep doing.

Unfortunately, I only make 200 a month caring for my sister’s kids, and even though she has a decent income, she has no credit and has been turned down for both care credit and scratch pay.
