Nismo is a 3-year-old Shorthair Cat in New Holland, PA, who needs $1,100 for Perineal Urethrostomy.

Hi, I’m Nismo’s mama, Amanda. We had a scare last week that turned into a very expensive weekend at the hospital. He had a urinary block that they got just in time before becoming fatal. The vet sent him home Sunday with clear pees and some pain meds. We thought he was doing alright for what had happened. Even got a call Tuesday checking in on him and I said everything was okay minus the licking.

Nismo is a wonderful cuddler and loves spending the day sleeping in the dogs bed, and his nights in bed with his humans. He also loves sitting in our window upstairs and watch the birds and squirrels. He does try to talk to them but they never talk back. His father is an outside cat in our neighborhood and still alive. He can be seen roaming around in the summer time and visiting our Nismo!

He likes to play with the dog but mainly will run away and go hide in a cabinet. He is really funny and will open the cabinet door and actually shut it behind him. We timed it, he does this within 20 seconds and it is so funny to watch! He also loves sitting in his basket with soft blankets and he still suckles and kneads sometimes which is so cute since he is 3 now.

Nismo was taken to the emergency vet over the weekend last weekend and they unblocked his blocked urethra . However sadly on Thursday night we noticed he wasn’t himself again and called the vet and it is blocked again. He is scheduled for his surgery now on Monday. It’s the only day they had. He will be on pain meds this weekend to help keep him comfortable.

Currently we have spent the $3K on care credit, and now that he is back at the emergency vet it is another $2,900. This has come out of our own pockets. The surgery on Monday to make him better is another $2k that we don’t have but he needs this surgery so he doesn’t die.
