About this campaign
After the death of my father, my mother had lost the motivation to care for herself, and couldnt find a reason for living. I picked Nona up in a parking lot one day before christmas and knew that she was meant for my momma. She was the tiniest little thing I'd ever seen and needed someone to love her. After my mom's recent passing, I inherited Nona and have been caring for her.
Nona is a very vocal little lady, and though she's the tiniest of my three cat (weighing at 5lbs) she is no doubt the spunkiest, and runs the show around here. My boyfriend Steffan is her favorite person, and she loves cuddling up into his beard. she's got him wrapped around her finger.
Nona's spunky little sould gave my mom the hope and the companionship she needed to turn her life around. My mom always said that Nona was the closest she'd ever gotten to loving something as much as she loved me.
One of my mom's last requests was that I take care of Nona, and do everything I can to make sure she lives a long healthy life.
After a recent heat cycle, Nona was less vocal, and started to act lethargic and not her usual self. I took her to Dr. Cami Ogden at Saltwater Vet Hospital today- after $630 worth of diagnostics, it's been determined that Nona has Pyometra. She requires antibiotics and surgery to remove the infected uterus. If we can fund surgery in time, Nona will live a long healthy life.
Losing my mom this year has caused me an immense amount of grief and stress. I checked myself into an inpatient program to stabilize my mental health, and lost my job during that time. If Nona is healthy, that means I will have kept my promise to my momma. That's all I want.
