Six Weeks of Chemo Could Save Norris’s Life — Please Help Him Heal

Meet Norris, a resilient dog who has spent his life surviving on a Thai army base in Northern Thailand. Estimated to be around 3–4 years old, Norris has likely lived outdoors his entire life, relying on scraps and instinct to get by. Recently, the team at Hand to Paw Foundation was able to safely catch him and bring him to a veterinary clinic — and what they discovered confirmed he urgently needed help.

Norris has been diagnosed with Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor (CTVT) affecting his genitals. This contagious cancer is treatable, but it requires consistent chemotherapy and close medical monitoring to ensure a full recovery. Because Norris has likely gone without veterinary care for years, his treatment will not be quick. Veterinarians estimate he will need approximately six weeks of hospitalization and care to complete his chemotherapy safely and give him the best chance at healing.

While he is under treatment, the team also hopes to neuter Norris, which will help prevent further spread of CTVT, reduce roaming, improve his long-term health, and help stabilize the local dog population. However, all of this care comes at a cost, and as a stray dog with no owner, Norris depends entirely on compassionate supporters.
