Nova is our dog, Nikki's, pup. I was a few months pregnant when Nikki had her and I instantly fell in love. We weren't looking to get another dog. We have another named Nala who is 14 yrs. But we couldn't leave Nova behind. We always thought it was funny that we each had a dog with a name starting with 'N' before we got together, so we decided to use an 'N' name. We also have a 1 yr old daughter.

At 3 months, Nova was having pain when picked up and would pee herself in fear when we got near her. She was diagnosed with a spinal infection and given steroids and antibiotics which helped. Months later she developed bumps all over her body. We tried allergy and fungal treatments and none worked. Now after getting X-Rays, we suspect spondylosis but need to go to a neurologist official diagnosis.

Nova has always been a very sweet and friendly dog. She was always so playful and loved to antagonize her mom. She would always play with our Chihuahua, Nala, very gently and carefully. She listened so well we didn't even need to train her. She caught on quickly to things by watching Nikki. She even taught herself how to play fetch. Even now she's still such a sweet girl.

We bought our first starter home just a few months ago after looking for years. We were so happy to finally have a home for our family. We still have some fixing up to do which will cost a lot. My boyfriend took a huge pay cut at work when we moved.
