Nugget is a seven-month-old Pomeranian in Greenville, NC, who needs $2,000 for urgent leg surgery.

In an instant, Jodi G.'s and Nugget's lives changed forever.

"I took Nugget outside in the courtyard of my apartment complex where the dogs play and go potty," Jodi tells Waggle. "I was holding her when a big dog ran past me, and Nugget was so anxious to play, she jumped out of my arms and hit the concrete. She immediately started screaming. After a visit to Points East Animal Hospital, it was determined that Nugget had broken her radius and ulna (bones) and needs surgery."

Nugget's leg remains in a cast until Jodi can raise the money for her dog's operation to repair the fractures. "I am currently a college student, and I do not have sufficient funds to cover the full cost," Jodi says. "Nugget is the first pet that I have owned myself. She means the world to me. I would love for her to be back to her playful and spunky self, but her surgery is very expensive."

The pup has stolen the hearts of Jodi and her roommates. "Nugget and I live in a three-bedroom apartment with two roommates. She loves meeting new people, especially children and other dogs. When Nugget and I are ready for bed, I have to open up the sheets, so she is able to crawl under the blankets and cuddle up to me. She follows me around the house 24/7."
