Nutmeg was a rescue about 6 years ago. We were looking for a helper dog to aid in my son's severe PTSD from going to war with his fellow Marines. His son was born , diagnosed with non verbal/limited verbal autism and as he grew we needed a helper dog to alert us when my grandson would go outside. He was an eloper, loved to run and explore. Meg has been a perfect companion and helper with family

We are kindly asking for help to pay for the cost of a leg surgery, so that Meg may run and continue to help the family. She is in pain and does have swelling of her left rear leg due to a ACL tear. We have tried therapy, splints etc, unfortunately she is an active dog and none of those worked. The vet has let us know surgery is her best and really only option now.

Nutmeg is a calm and very loving dog, she loves snuggles and pets and to play fetch. She loves pleasing her owners and family. She is great with kids, other animals and again is so smart and knows the things to alert us to. Just her presence helps with the PTSD and the anxiety attacks that both dad and son have.
