When looking for a puppy, I stumbled upon a husky breeder website in PA. As soon as I saw Oakley's photo, I knew I had to have him because he was different. I wanted Oakley for his brown and white fur and golden brown eyes. Oakley turned eight on December 25, 2021. I've had him since she was eight weeks old.

Until he wants attention, Oakley whines every once in a while or will "talk" like most huskies.

One morning, I heard cries from Oakley. Once I saw him, I knew there was something wrong! He could not get up to walk; he was crying in pain. I felt how swollen his right hind leg was. Luckily, I was able to get him to see the vet find out he had torn ligaments in both knees. After sedated x-rays and an initial rehab consultation, we know that Oakley has severe arthritis and lost 90% hip mobility.

As a single first-year teacher, my finances are tight. I can only imagine having Oakley in my life. I have had him since he was eight weeks old. Seeing Oakley healthy would mean the world to me! If I can get him better now, I will be able to keep him in my life longer.
