Obama is a 13-year-old Mix in Ballston Spa, NY, who needs $2,000 for Endoscopy.

Obama was born in my house with his 5 siblings. His mom was a pregnant stray who was dumped at my house back in 2008. Watching them all grow up, I simply couldn't part with any of them, including the mom, so the whole family is with me! On June 17th, Obama and his siblings turn 13! My experience with this family is the reason I started my nonprofit cat rescue in 2010!

Obama is a sweet, but slightly antsy boy (because he is a bit obsessed with wet food!). He is good with my other cats, and was always the "big brother" to any foster kittens who made their way to my house over the years. He would clean them, cuddle with them, and show them the ropes! He sleeps with me every night, right above my head on the pillow I have set up for him and his brother!

My cats are my babies, & after being laid off due to COVID on 12/31, the expenses are piling, and I find myself in debt caring for my cats. I never want them to go without, and being able to know what's going on will allow me to treat him appropriately and prolong his life.

Obama has had bloodwork done (twice) and another ultrasound done to keep close tabs on his IBD. Unfortunately, his first round of bloodwork showed a high white blood cell count, and his most recent ultrasound showed increased thickening in the lining of his intestines. After seeing a specialist, we know it's either severe IBD or small cell lymphoma. An endoscopy will determine which it is.

Obama loves to lick! Lol. If I let him, he would clean at least one of my arms/hands every day! He also has a tendency to meow directly into my face first thing in the morning, so basically, he's my alarm clock that tells me, "Hey, it's time for our wet food!" He's lucky I have a sense of humor, and that he's so cute!
