About this campaign
My husband rescued Odie and his litter mate sister Brownie 13 years ago. He has been a loyal protector of Brownie and loving member of the family ever since. Med and my 2 children joined Robert and his 3 children in 2019. We are a blended family of 7 and we also have 6 cats, rescued from various situations as well.
Odie loves to run outside with his sister Brownie. He once fell into the pool and did not like it at all, so he now steers clear of that area! But he likes going hiking and camping with us and he loves lounging around the house with all 5 kids and 6 cats too! He is not big on treats, but he loves his food! When the box comes from Amazon, he knows what it is and will sit and guard it all day long.
Odie always makes us smile and he is always a gentleman. He always waits until Brownie eats to start eating and he always paces at the door if he comes in before her. He loves her so much! Our smallest cat Tucker thinks he is a member of Odie's pack and follows him everywhere. He is so gentle with everyone.
A couple months ago we thought Odie was having gingivitis and maybe an infection in his mouth so we took him to the vet. They saw a growth on his bottom jaw. By the time they did a biopsy, it doubled in size. We were devastated to find out it was cancer. We were referred to Dr Pompeo at PVSEC in Washington, PA. She said a partial jaw removal should cure him!
As a family of 7, in times of extreme inflation, we are struggling to find a way to cover the cost for the $5300 surgery. We already spent $1200 in diagnostics. COVID has been difficult since Robert is a substitute teacher and could only work part time.
