About this campaign

As Odysseus grew into an adult, his owners shut him outside and quit caring for him. He was likely hit by a car. Instead of getting the medical care he needed, his former owner tried to “fix” the injury himself—only mangling it further. By the time help arrived, Odysseus was covered in filth, flies, and maggots. Taken in for euthanasia, he was found to be stable and had an obvious will to survive.

Odysseus currently suffers from an internal infection and following treatment for that, his leg will be amputated. His surgery will be performed by Kimbrough Animal Hospital in Longview, TX.

Odysseus isn’t defined by his injury—he’s the sweetest, most talkative cat you’ll ever meet. He greets you at the door like a dog, rubs on everything in sight, and carries on whole conversations with his people. All he wants is love, and he has endless affection to give in return.

Odysseus has survived so much, but he can’t heal without surgery to remove his damaged leg. As a 501(c)(3), we can’t do this alone. Your gift will ease his pain and give him the healthy, happy future he deserves.
