About this campaign

We were blessed with adopting Olaf when he was 5.5 months old from a rescue in Texas. He is now a lovable, full of life 1 year old who enjoys getting cuddles from mom and dad. He has a one and a half year old brother (lab mix) who he is very bonded to. He currently lives in a beautiful home with a spacious fenced in back yard so he can play.

Olaf is just amazing. He is so cuddly and has the best facial expressions. He makes us laugh all the time. He loves to be able to see us at all times so he will roam around the house with us doing chores, etc. He is the best family dog! We go on daily walks in his stroller since the surgeon said no long walks until after surgery. He loves walks in his stroller and will hop right in! :)

My husband and I are working very hard to get the financial means to pay for his surgery. We were told it would be around 6000-7000 per hip. I picked up a second job, and my husband has been working long hours. We will be draining our savings, but Olaf is worth every penny!

Olaf was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis in both hips in the beginning of 2020 from Lodi Vet. We were referred to the Madison Specialty Vet where Olaf had a surgical orthopedic consult. MSV stated they no longer did complete hip replacements so we were referred to UW orthopedic department where he had a surgical consultation. He needs a bilateral hip replacement.

Olaf is unique in the fact that he has a multitude of facial expressions to let us know exactly what he is saying. Many dogs use their eyebrows, but Olaf uses many parts of his face to express how he is feeling. It makes us laugh so hard to see his personality come out every day. He is very protective of his family and loves to give kisses.
