About this campaign
Olina was adopted during the middle of Covid. I adoped her from a rescue organization. She had been in foster care for 4 months. I was/am living alone as a single senior woman with no family in the area. She is a character, and has been great company. As the saying goes - it is "the two of us"against the world.
It is just Olina and I in the household. I was told at the rescue that she needed an household that could give her full attention on her own, without other pets. And that seems to be what has happened - when I adopted her my work was closed down. So it meant a lot of attention was given to her. And she has needed it! I was blessed to be able to have unemployment for almost 2 years.
Olina is a character. (When she isn't feeling bad) she does lots of zoomies around the house, and sometimes comes up to me while I am the computer and gently swats me to get more attention. She has constant eye contact with me, which I have not experienced with the 2 other cats I have had during my adult life. He big brown eyes are always looking up at me. Sweet girl.
About 4-5 months after I had adopted Olina she started having problems with coughing, but with nothing coming up. She also started having a "gurgling" in her chest, and having trouble breathing. That was the first time I took her to a Vet. She was put on medication and got some better. The symptoms came back. 4 more Vet visits, 2 emergency visits and now in the hospital still trying to figure
I am a 70 year old single woman who is on my own without family. I have just started social security, and was assuming that Olina and I would most likely die around the same time. She is a young cat - and she means the world to me as my family. I Love her very much.
