About 4 years ago, my now husband and I moved into our own apartment for the first time. Once we settled in, we wanted to start a family so we adopted Olive and her "brother" Simon from a couple. From the moment I laid eyes on her on the ad, I knew she was mine. It's been a wonderful few years., and now we have 3 beautiful babies, Olive, our other cat Simon, and our husky, Freya.

On 10/18/24, she laid on my lap, belly up. I held her in my arms and she stayed like that for 15 minutes. I knew something was off. By Sunday, I felt a small lump on her stomach. By Monday night, it was a large mass. We took her to Faithful Friends Animal Hospital on 10/23/24 where they took a blood sample. They told us the cells were consistent with cancer and the mass needs surgical removal.

Olive is more than a cat. She is my soul mate. I have an anxiety disorder and PTSD, and has provided me comfort and support. She is the sweetest little thing and loves to cuddle with my husband and her "brother", Simon. She's shy with company, and only comes out of hiding for our best friends. She fills this home with love and a calmness with her purrs.

This has been a hard year. My husband and I lived with family, then suddenly got our own place. Then, he was involved in a hit and run that totaled his car. Our savings got wiped out, and this has truly come out of nowhere. This prognosis is so shocking to our family.
