About this campaign
Oliver came into my life less than 48 hours ago. I searched google for a young goldendoodle in need of a home. I found him online through a lady who wanted to rehome him. After bringing him home, I noticed he was extremely matted and underweight. His personality was shy and timid. He appears to be from a puppy mill and is unvaccinated.
Oliver began to come out of his shell after bringing him home. He had to learn how to climb stairs and learn how to play with toys. He is housebroken and knows some basic commands such as sit, shaking hands, and responding to his name. He appeared to be very timid of males, shy, and not have typical behavior of a goldendoodle (high energy, friendly, puppy-like behavior).
Oliver is special because I feel it was fate that he was meant to come with me. I wanted to name the puppy I adopted Oliver and learned after picking him up that he was already named Oliver or Ollie. He instantly became attached and would lean into my body and follow me around the house. I could tell that Oliver had not been loved and cared for in his previous home.
Oliver is currently being treated for canine parvovirus. He began to vomit and have diarrhea consistently 24 hours ago and was admitted to MedVet in Cincinnati. He was lethargic, not feeling well, and extremely sick with blood in his stool. After being diagnosed with parvovirus, he was put in an isolation room and hooked to IV's. We are hoping he will recover and come home soon.
The veterinarian at MedVet made it clear to us that he would not survive if he was not immediately hospitalized. The first night cost $2,500 and the cost is $1,000 per additional night. I work in the school system helping children with special needs. Please help Oliver!
