About this campaign

I always introduce Oliver to people as "my dog's best friend". We adopted Oliver in October 2023 and since then has been a constant companion and playmate to my golden retriever, Finn. They travel, eat, sleep, and play together, often acting together when they get up to mischief. Oliver walks on a leash just like his big brother, and it's hard to see them separated and apart right now.

Oliver got into trouble playing with Finn's plush toys and consumed part of one. Because of the vomiting he is severely dehydrated, and needs plasma transfusions, as well as heavy fluids to address rising ammonia levels in his kidneys and low blood pressure. He also needs surgery to get the obstruction out of his small intestine. He's currently under intensive care at UPenn Vet Hospital.

Finn right now is definitely feeling the loss of his best friend. He can tell that Oliver is gone and I desperately hope to reunite them. Oliver we always say is a dog that is stuck in a cat's body, usually diving across the room to tackle Finn and beg him to play, convinced he's not a tenth of Finn's size. He's our cuddle buddy at night, bundling up and sleeping up against Finn or me.

It's just me with Finn and Oliver and I usually go paycheck to paycheck paying the mortgage and bills. 10,000 dollars is a big number to get when Oliver needs so much help and I have very little, but I'm pushing care for him and trying to figure it out as we go.
