About this campaign
Hello, and thank you in advance for reading my story.
Several weeks ago, a cat with a very badly injured leg, and a limp, showed up on my deck. His coat was matted, and his meow was weak and pitiful, and his eyes showed the terrible pain that he was in.
After several unsuccessful attempts I was finally able to get him in a crate, and to the Vet. He was not chipped, and no one responded to the "lost pet" sites that I posted his picture on, so I decided to make him mine -- and named him Oliver.
Oliver was anemic, borderline diabetic, and FIV positive. His leg was badly infected as the wound was deep, and it was a very long road to recovery as an inpatient.
The Vet bill for his surgery, bandage changes, medications, vaccinations, blood work, X-rays, neutering, chipping, and ICU room & board totaled over $2,000. But I could not turn my back on him -- nor send him to Animal Control knowing that he would be euthanized.
The pictures shows Oliver's awful leg injury which healed very nicely though he will always walk with a limp. But I love this "disabled" boy who will (now) be an indoor cat, only. And he received an excellent prognosis for a long, happy, life with the right medications (whenever needed), and proper care.
In the beginning of this journey, I was not anticipating a medical bill of this magnitude; so needless to say I would greatly appreciate any help with getting Oliver's bill paid.
Thanks you so much, for your heartfelt kindness, and generosity to all who donate.
