I turned 30 years of age and for the fist time in my life I was able to own a pet of my own. I have a big family and all pets are apart of the family. Onyx was my very first pet that I was able to adopt and introduce to the family as my best friend.

Onyx is a one year old very healthy Chow Chow. On a terrible night a great unfortunate event took place and Onyx ran away from home and was hit by a vehicle. The driver left Onyx and didn't stop. My family and I went to look for him and out of all of us searching my sister found him laying wounded under a tree on the side of the road next to our city's middle school.

Onyx is special because even though he is super tough and strong, he has a big heart and a soft touch to all the are brave enough to pet him. He is a protector of the family and will always be there when you need him most. He tries to help in numerous ways even though he is just a dog. He listens and understands what's going on around him, probably why he's such a good companion and guardian.

Before adopting Onyx I suffered years of hardship fighting for my freedom, family, and career. I had to restart my life at 30 years of age and Onyx was apart of that first step to a new chapter. Our love for Onyx is worth more than money or any possession. I love my dog.
