Onyx was a surprise on Easter Sunday 13 years ago. We left home to enjoy family and returned with a new family member. 3 unexpected hours at Walmart we found essentials. Onyx, at just 6 weeks old was brought inside crying like he was being murdered in a box carried by my very patient, then 10 to son.
He was a boisterous, loud, curious silly, fluffy pile of silky hairball. So! Cute! Instant love!

Onyx has been hurt twice since January. He's favoring his other leg this time and the injury from January hasn't finished healing. He needs a physical, shots, bloodwork, and X-rays, so far, at Encompass Animal Care and Health—an amazing, nonprofit veterinary care center.

This Sweetie boy is my life. He's been by my side, walking this journey right soon with me since I became disabled in 2021. He holds me when I cry, stays near keeping watch over me whenever I'm unable to get out of bed, is incredibly patient about feeding times, and just so empathetically compassionste. I joke he'd bring me an afternoon tea tray if he could. I'm not ready for him to leave me yet.

I fell ill Dec 31, 2021. Working through several chronic medical issues, some difficult to even diagnose. The stroke Jan exacerbated this trial. I have no income as Disability Ins. has been a long difficult process to acquire. Each day is a new unknown fight. I will win!!
