About this campaign
We rescued Onyx, from abuse when she was a young pup. She then became my daughter's support animal. She is the heart and laughter of our pack. Onyx is sweet, loving, and a big part of my daughter's stability.
Onyx has "Happy Tail Syndrome." She got a small crack on the end of her tail. We have been treating it, wrapping it etc. We came home from a school event for my kids and she had bitten through the tail guard and the bandage and proceeded to eat to the bone, leaving her in need of emergency amputation surgery.
Onyx is a big deal in our life; she is almost 200 pounds, and she loves to love and be loved! She is a support animal for my daughter, who is on the spectrum. The thought of losing her due to unforeseen emergency medical bills is unfathomable.
I cannot afford to pay the required emergency surgical amount, which has been estimated at 5-7k. If we cannot help her we will have to put her down. I don't have the heart to tell my children this is the only other option so I am using this as my last hope for help.
