About this campaign

I adopted Opal a few weeks ago as a kitten from the humane society. She was 3 months old when I adopted her. I brought her in a day after she was adopted just for a routine checkup and she was diagnosed with what the vet called "the biggest bladder stone they have every seen." This is very rare, especially for a kitten of only 3 months. On top of that, she has a urinary tract and staph infection.

Opal is the sweetest cat I have ever met. She is so loving and loves cuddles. You can hold her all day long and she loves long car rides. Opal is loved by everyone who meets her. She loves to run around my house with her toy ball. She is such a joy in my life, and many others too. She is always by my side.

I am a recent college graduate. I have no savings and honestly no checking either. I just started my first full-time job, so that will help me with some of the costs. My mom already had to help me pay for my rent, and I do not want her to now pay for Opal's medical bills.

On Friday, October 1, Opal will have her first bladder stone removal surgery. Leading up to this, she has been on antibiotics to treat her UTI and staph infection. She was also given pain killers to minimize her pain. Once the bladder stone is removed, she will need to be on a special diet to prevent new stones from forming for the rest of her life. She is being treated at the VCA by Dr. Rowan.

Every time I open the fridge, Opal jumps right in! She loves the cool air. She climbs from shelf to shelf trying to get the best view. She is very unique! She also loves the water. She lets me bathe her with no problems, and she loves to play in the toilet. Her favorite thing to do is look out the window on car rides.
