About this campaign

We adopted Opal from a rescue where we got one of our other dogs. We picked her up and brought her home Saturday where we then rushed her to an emergency vet an hour away on Sunday. It was there where she stayed for 4 days. She had pneumonia and both lungs were filled with fluid, she needed oxygen therapy, antibiotics, and 24-hour monitoring.

Opal sleeps in her crate in a bedroom with her mom. She is separated from the other two dogs because she could be contagious as well as she needs to be as relaxed as possible. Too much excitement makes it difficult for her to breathe so mom and dad set up a baby monitor and air purifier. She’s got toys, water, bed and blankets. She’s loving and sweet. And just wants to cuddle and play.

Opal has huge ears and eyes compared to her teenie little body. She reminds us of a little bat! She has a toy sloth that she absolutely loves and everything she does makes us smile. We’re in love with being around her. She likes to sit in front of us and just stare at us it is incredibly adorable. Opal likes chicken and when she drinks her water she likes to let it pour out of her mouth all over.

Saves in Lebanon NH is where Opal was kept and treated. Her veterinarians changed every 12 hours or so due to shift changes. She had X-rays and blood work done. She has pneumonia and both lungs were pictured to be filled with fluid. She was on IV, catheter, oxygen therapy, and monitoring. Opal was not eating or drinking when we had her. Very malnourished.

It will mean the world to us to have our little girl healthy again. She is our daughter not just a pet. This hospitalization was very unexpected. We were anticipating some health issues but nothing like this. We would be so incredibly grateful and appreciative.
