I met Cookie when our landlord bought her and her siblings back from South Carolina to sell. I immediately fell in love! She reminded me of an Oreo (hence the name). She has quite the personality. She will be fifteen in a few months, and I know that it's not possible, but I want her around for a lifetime.

Cookie is , and always has been, an only child. She loves attention and and I often have to watch where I step because she is often right under foot. She has been completely blind for about five years, but that doesn't stop her at all. She cries for what she wants, and when those cries go unnoticed, she escalates to resounding barking demands. She also has an internal treat clock (2:00).

My income has been greatly effected by Covid. I have recently contracted with several companies, but credentialing takes awhile in my field. My savings are depleted and cc's are maxed out. I can't afford the ultrasound to definitively diagnose her .

Cookie's bladder issues started in 2016. She was struggling to urinate, then had very small drops of blood. The hospital provided medications that helped. Since then, she's UTIs that have become more frequent lately as well as calcification in her urine. She requires special food and courses of antibiotics. Her condition has worsened over the past few weeks. The antibiotics are no longer working.

Cookie is a fighter. She has been through a lot, and despite her challenges, she is still feisty, vibrant, and loving. If I'm talking on the phone, she has to come find me and "stare" at me while I talk, lol. She also waits for me behind the directly behind the front door, forcing me to shimmy through a a small opening. I think that's my punishment for leaving.
