About this campaign
We adopted Oreo in December of 2014. Oreo was the best Christmas present we had ever gotten. After begging my parents for a dog for 6 years, we had finally gotten our little munchkin. Throughout the years we learned so much about dogs, responsibility, and the unconditional love they give. Oreos name came from the colors of his fur- he was black with a round white patch in the middle!
Oreo is definitely a Papa's boy. His favorite spot in the whole house is right in between Dad's legs, and dad loves it too. It's safe to say we have wars over Oreo's attention, everyone wants Oreo with them! He loves window watching on the window sills, and chasing shadows and reflections! He likes to sit on the kitchen carpet and watch mom cook and will follow all of us around.
Due to some family health issues, and covid 19 we are struggling financially. We have been dealing with Stage 4 Cancer bills and throughout the 4 years of this diagnosis, Oreo has been the emotional support we needed, and helping him would mean everything to us.
Oreo was running and slipped onto his paws very hard. The first vet we saw had misdiagnosed him and claimed there were no broken bones, just hyperextension. The second vet said Oreo was in need of surgery as he has a right hip luxation and a displaced right carpal fracture. Oreos surgeries will cost around $4000. Veterinary expenses are very costly.
Something that makes Oreo special is his love of shadows and reflections. He is a hunter when it comes to reflection. Anytime the flashlights turn on, the light flickers or the sun reflects off a window, Oreo is there ready to chase it! He barks and barks until he can't get the shadow. Another specialty is Oreos toy. His purple toy has been his best friend since we got him, and he has been since
