Oscar is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu in Cromwell, CT, who needs $1,800 for spinal surgery for a herniated disc.

Oscar came into our lives back in November 2018. He stood out from all the other dogs. Oscar is such a happy little dog. He loves to cuddle with the kids. He greets everyone that comes to the door by giving kisses and wagging his tail. He is always there by our side. Oscar follows us around everywhere. He does not like to be alone.

Oscar enjoys sleeping in one of our rooms. He loves to get cozy is his doggy bed. Oscar enjoys going for walks in the neighborhood. He has to stop and go up to everyone we walk by. He is a very social little guy. He especially likes to greet other dogs. Oscar ,loves to be around others. He really is such blessing to our family.

Oscar's surgery was an unexpected cost. His surgery was very expensive. We are hoping that with some help we will be able to pay off the cost of Oscar's surgery. He also required eye surgery because he developed an eye ulcer that lead to a hole in his eye.

On Sunday August 29th Oscar's back legs were completely paralyzed. We discovered that Oscar had a herniated disc and required live saving surgery. Our other option was to put Oscar down. Even though the surgery was costly we just couldn't say goodbye. Oscar is such a precious member of our family. Oscar had a 50% chance to regain movement in his back legs. He is walking and we are so happy.

Oscar is really funny. He has quite the personality. When we are eating dinner he likes to stand up and beg for food. Oscar loves to jump on our pool floaties. Whenever there is action he is close by. He always has to be in the middle of everything. He follows us wherever we go. He loves to give lots of kisses. He's very affectionate.
