About this campaign
Oskar is my sweet 15-year old Doxie. I adopted him in 2012 after he had been surrendered to a rescue by his owner. The minute I saw his face, I knew I had to have him. He was heartworm positive, but was successfully treated and soon after he came to live with me. At the time, he joined my Border Collie, Josh and my Terrier, Peanut.
When Oskar first joined our family, he was quite the stinker! He fit right in with my other two dogs, but was fairly high maintenance. He had an abundance of energy and required daily walks with his brothers. He loved getting into the trash, always searching for the elusive tissue or paper towel! Now that he is much older, he has calmed down and has become 100% delightful!
Oskar is textbook Doxie! When he was younger he loved jumping on and off furniture, even jumping onto the piano bench and on top of the piano to reach a plate of cookies! He is very into routine and can tell time like no other dog! He never lets me forget about meals or having to go potty. And when it’s time for bed, he let me know with a soft whine.
Oskar began having dental issues about 6 years ago. He had a routine cleaning in 2017. Since then he has had two dentals with extractions, the last being in 2022 where he had 14 teeth removed. His last appointment determined that his remaining teeth are in horrible condition and he is in need of another dental. His current vet is Dr. Morman at West Suburban Animal Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
I currently have 9 other senior dogs in my home, ranging from 10-17 years old. Because of Oskar’s age, I want him to go to the best vet with the best care. While it may be pricier than other vets, the trust I have for Dr. Morman says it all. I just want him feeling good!
